The Composer Pro refines and enhances the popular and award winning Lensbaby Composer by upgrading the swivel ball and focus mechanism to provide professional performance. The Composer Pro’s metal swivel ball design and refined focus mechanism deliver ultra-smooth focus and tilt control. The updated focus mechanism features a fluid and accurate dampened focus ring comparable to the focus mechanisms of the highest quality professional manual focus lenses.
This smooth, fluid operation makes the Composer Pro the perfect choice for discerning professional photographers and videographers who want to create ground-breaking creative imagery.
The Composer Pro ships with the Sweet 35 Optic installed. The Sweet 35 delivers a sweet spot of sharp focus that photographers can move around the photo by tilting the Composer Pro’s swiveling lens body. It is a 35mm selective focus optic with a 12-blade internal aperture, boasts the widest focal length of any selective focus Lensbaby optic and features close-focus capabilities.
Great when used with Edge 80 Optic too!

I am a serious hobbyist and am having fun experimenting with this lens. It is making me think outside the box. I've had to stop and think about settings, angles and focus again. It's opening up a whole new world for me. I needed this creative boost. Construction of the lens seems fine. The product arrived in a timely manner. I'm pleased with the purchase.

Love this lens. I am a hobbyist and enjoy photography but I didn't know easy it would be to learn to use and love this lens. Thank you for an awesome product!

My Lens Baby arrived quickly as was as I expected. I struggle with diopter on my camera and glasses. Lens Baby and manual focus highlights need to get this right! I have Composer Pro and love the way the parts move together - very smooth! I love the out of focus parts and love more the slight distortion.

After having it on my wishlist for over a year, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Lensbaby Composer Pro with a Sweet 35 Optic, a few weeks ago. I deliberated for a while about whether to go with the Sweet 35 or Double Glass, but opted to start with the Sweet 35, since I'm a fan of environmental portraits.
This lens has exceeded my expectations on every level. I am a professional shooter (and thoroughly enjoy manual shooting), so the learning curve wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Within an hour of playing around with the Lensbaby, I started to understand the relation of how tilting affected the sweet spot. I do suggest practicing with still objects and a patient model : )
Here are just a few things I love about this lens:
1) It is a natural extension of my style. I love shooting with shallow depth of field with a strong focus on a specific component of my frame. This lens allow you create ethereal images that evoke feeling and emotion. They are simply dreamy!
2) It requires you to be in the moment and shoot with intention and focus. Every shot and subtle movement requires careful thinking and refinement, so it brings me back to a feeling I had when I used to shoot with film. Very cerebral but creative at the same time.
3) It allows me to capture what I envision in my head IN CAMERA. Very little post production is necessary if you nail your shot. It appeals to the PURIST in me who wants to create the shot in camera.
4) It has re-ignited my creativity! I'm literally planning shoots around this lens. It's really sparked a new level of excitement and creativity in my shooting.
It's only been about a month, but I am obsessed with this lens. My clients are loving the images, too.
I plan to use it on every shoot I do. I plan to get some new optics as soon as I can, too!

The Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 Optic has become my go-to lens for high school senior portraits. I strive to create unique images that are young, stylish and fresh- Lensbaby lenses make my images all of the above. I love capturing movement and fluidity in my pictures, with the Composer Pro and Sweet 35 Optic, the dynamic blur helps me achieve the look I desire. There is a bit of a learning curve, be prepared for that and be patient, but once you and your Composer do a little bonding, it will be your go-to lens, too! Happy shooting!

The Lensbaby line has added a new approach to my creativity in composing images. When I first started with the system, I heard about the "learning curve". The Sweet 35 removes a lot of the learning curve and makes the transition to the Lensbaby optics easier and faster. I find that moving in to do candid portraits and controlling the depth of field in those portraits is quick and simple with the Sweet 35. The aperture ring allows for faster focusing at a wide aperture and then quickly stopping down to the bokeh effect desired. The extra width in the angle of view is great when using the lens on APS-C sensors too!

Compared to many of the other Lensbaby lenses where you have to manually change out the magnetic aperture pieces, the Sweet 35 Optic with Composer Pro gives you just as much flexibility with a completely streamlined system. The ball joint offers you a lot of control in that you can easily reposition the sweet spot or just leave it where it works for you and it will not shift on you. Though I find it a bit challenging to manually focus in general and there is a bit of a learning curve in feeling out where the Sweet 35's sweet spot is as you move the optic around, it makes for some beautifully sharp in-focus areas, and dreamy out-of-focus areas. The colors are outstanding. Wonderful for portraits and nature. You won't be disappointed.
